Rangers claim Arthur Kaliyev off waivers from Kings
Igor Shesterkin is set to return to the cage on Thursday against the New Jersey Devils at Madison Square Garden after missing four games to an upper-body injury per NHL insider Elliotte Friedman. Shesterkin endured the injury in the Rangers' 5-3 loss to the Florida Panthers on Dec. 30.
The New York Rangers picked up Arthur Kaliyev off NHL waivers on Monday, the team announced. The Los Angeles Kings placed Kaliyev on waivers on Sunday. He carries a $825,000 cap hit on a one-year contract he signed with the Kings in the off-season.
