Mixed martial arts tycoon’s appointment to Meta board comes as Silicon Valley builds ties with incoming US administration

Meta has named three new members to its board of directors, including Dana White, the Ultimate Fighting Championship chief executive who played a key role in the reelection of his longtime friend, President-elect Donald Trump.

White is a close ally of Trump, who has criticised Meta and Zuckerberg for allegedly supporting liberal policies and showing bias against conservatives.
